Curriculum design and instructional planning
This case study demonstrates my ability to plan instruction based on student learning needs. I identified specific algebra learning goals and matched those goals with evidence-based instructional strategies, including visual representations, precise mathematical language, and metacognitive supports. Through this process, I demonstrated my understanding of how to organize instruction, select appropriate teaching methods, and create meaningful learning experiences that support student achievement.
Differentiated instruction and modern learning skills
This KWL chart demonstrates my understanding of how to implement instruction that addresses diverse learning needs. Through this assignment, I explored instructional strategies for teaching mathematics to students with disabilities, including differentiation, visual supports, technology integration, and positive reinforcement. The questions I developed reflect my commitment to creating learning opportunities that meet the needs of diverse learners while incorporating effective instructional practices and 21st-century learning tools.
Comprehensive assessment and student growth
The CBA Plan demonstrates my ability to examine and implement formative assessments to monitor student learning and guide instruction. This assessment plan was designed to measure sixth-grade students' progress in fraction operations through ongoing curriculum-based measurement probes aligned to West Virginia mathematics standards. The plan includes measurable objectives, assessment procedures, progress-monitoring tools, and instructional decision-making based on student performance data. Through this project, I demonstrated my understanding of using assessment to support student growth and inform instructional practices.
